Hänsel & Gretel

Short Film/Book adaptation, Germany 2012

Two siblings who are abandoned by their parents in the forest and who, after a long hike, end up at a gingerbread house. However, an evil witch lives there who wants to fatten Hansel up so that she can eat him. The two children devise a trick, burn the evil witch and return home rich and happy. And if they haven't died... Even the summary of one of the famous German folk tunes reads more eerily than beautifully. In his film, animation artist Ralf Kukula takes on the story in its darkest form.
