Germany, Pale Mother

In the summer of 1939, Hans and Lene exchange vows. As their daughter Anna enters the world, Hans is deployed as a soldier in occupied France, and Germany becomes the focal point of relentless Allied bombing raids. Lene navigates the challenges of wartime solo parenting, shielding Anna from the tumultuous reality. Upon Hans's return, however, Lene grapples with a sense of confinement within the confines of family life.
